Are soft lumps on my kitten's belly normal? When to see a vet?

Hi. I've noticed few soft lumps on my kittens belly, is that normal?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! No, lumps are not normal. In a young kitten, these may represent small abscess or focal infection sites. I recommend that you have Luna evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Therapy would be based on findings. Good luck!

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Tiddy. I recommend that she sees her veterinarian for x-rays of her belly. You need to be sure that she has delivered all of her kittens. If not, this is an emergency. I hope this information helps!

My cat has 2 soft inner "balls" in her lower abdomen. They surround her lower nipples. They are soft to the touch. Wen shes walking she looks like she has extra skin down there. Can it be a tumor or something that can put her health at risk?
Those are normal fat pads. Most adult cats have these particularly cats who are less active and slightly overweight. They do feel like masses but they are normal and nothing to be overly concerned about. Thanks for using Boop by Petco to help you care for Ava.

My new kitten has a lump on the side of his stomach. Mind telling me how to treat it? And will it be expensive to go to the vet?
Unfortunately you should take Baby to the veterinarian. Without actually performing a physical examination it is difficult to say what is causing the lump and if I can't say the cause we can't say how to treat it. You can call your local veterinarians and see what they charge for an office visit. With how young Baby is she needs other things which can add up in the cost of the visit. At her appointment on Wednesday, your veterinarian could easily check for this possibility. If an abscess was noted, further local therapy with drainage and antibiotics would be recommended. Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! If the swelling is at the belly button, is soft and non-painful it is likely an umbilical hernia. The herniation is usually fat through the body wall. Sometimes they can be pushed in (but come back out) or are permanently out. We usually fix them easily when they are spayed. This is often differentiated by a test called a fine needle aspirate (FNA) which is a pain free, inexpensive and easy procedure which in most cases will help reach a diagnosis. Sometimes a biopsy is needed for a definitive diagnosis. I recommend that you have him evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. I am really hoping for something benign. I have a 4 yr old female cat that I found a lump on her lower stomach roughly half dollar sized and hard. Now today when I was looking at the lumb it now has a big open sore on it. I have been looking at images online, but can't seem to figure it out

There is no way of knowing for sure without an examination though this represents a reason to seek veterinary care. This is usually determined with an examination and a fine needle aspirate (FNA) or a biopsy. Treatment depends on the findings up to that point. Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Poor Tummy! Possible causes for a lump are: an abscess, a skin mass, or an internal mass in his belly. If Tummy has lost weight or is having any other change either behaviorally or appetite wise I recommend having him evaluated by your Vet. If the mass and in the skin (not the belly), is soft it is likely an abscess or a cyst. Sine this is a new finding I recommend having him seen by your Vet to be safe. Hello. It is very unlikely that this is cancerous, but what it actually requires is a hands-on examination. My first inclination is the presence of a single fly larva under each swelling. Warble flystrike is a common problem in young cats during the summer. This may also just be what you described, some type of benign cyst, but It is unusual enough that I really recommend letting your vet take a look at this. Thanks for using Boop by Petco.

Although a picture of it would help to give you more specific answers, this kind of lump/growth needs to be ideally assessed by your veterinarian to have a definitive and specific answer. Usually there are two ways your vet can do that a part from examining it directly during physical examination. A biopsy can be taken under local or general anesthetic, otherwise a smaller sample through a fine needle can be aspirated (this technique is called FNA= fine needle aspiration). Differentials include skin cysts, infections, benign or more sinister type of tumors (unlikely given her age).
