What are the bests ear wash products for dogs with coco and fungi infections?

I would recommend not just an ear wash but also medications to clear up this infection. If there is moderate-severe or 2+ yeast and cocci then I would recommend Oticetic flush and Mometamax ear medicine. You can also try Zymox ear medicine as an alternative. You typically can only get these through your vet or with veterinary approval. Ear medicine and medicated cleaners are typically not sold over the counter.     There are lots of ear cleaners for dogs on the market, so you definitely have a number of different choices :) My favorite preventative cleaner for dogs who are prone to yeast infections is MalAcetic Otic Cleanser - it's a good cleaning and drying agent, and keeps the pH low to make the ear canal less inviting for yeast and bacteria. You should be able to find it (or something similar) online from most pet retailers.

    Hello. You can use Zymox Otic Cleanser, an over the counter preparation that is effective against bacterial, fungal & yeast organisms. Petco does indicate they carry this & hopefully they are still open in your area. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.

    Without some photos it is difficult to say what is going on with her. If you think she has an ear infection you can try this product once a day for a week or so. If it doesn't help she needs to see a vet. https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/zymox-ear-cleanser

How do I get rid of a yeast ear infection?
Yeast ear infections often need antifungal topical ear medications to help resolution. Most topical ear medications will also contain an antibiotic (not always needed) and a steroid, which will help with the itch the yeast can cause. I would recommend that you discuss the proper medication with your veterinarian. Many times yeast ear infections are caused by too much moisture in the ear (like after swimming in a pool or lake) or from inflammation caused by allergies (from fleas, food, environment, etc.). If Tiki has recurrent yeast ear infections, you may need to have her vet work up allergies as the primary problem. For minor yeast ear infections that aren't red, swollen, or itchy, you can try an ear cleanser to help remove the yeast. If you do this for a couple days and it isn't better, than she will probably need prescription medications.

Hello- Darla has been rubbing her ears for about a week. It has become more frequent and she seems really bothered. I believe she has an ear infection. Is there something we can give her without having to go to the vet? Thank you in advance.
You can start flushing her ears with ear flush you can buy over the counter at a pet store. Or, use warm solution of half water, half vinegar and squirt a large volume into both ears. Then massage each ear until you get a swishing noise. Wipe the goo out with Kleenex and let her shake her head. The problem with this is that you might get the ear cleaner, but most dogs need an allergy medication like Apoquel or prednisone to stop the swelling and itching in the ear canal and feel better. This your vet can provide. Hope that helps!

If the preliminary medications from your vet didn’t improve her condition, then it’s time to consider getting Xena a culture done of her ear to determine what medicaiton can clear things up. This is a specific test that will determine what medicaiton combination is needed to get rid of he infection. I also am not sure if your vet has tried Posatex ear medication yet, but this is strong ear medicaiton that can help with resistant infections. Also pain medicaiton (steroids work well for ears when they are really inflamed) can also be prescribed by your vet to help with Xena’s discomfort. There is not an over the counter medication you put but you can try to call your vet to see if they are able refill any medicines if he was seen recently until you can get him. If not they do make ear cleaners you can get from the vet or a pet store without a prescription. These can help rinse the ear and keep the wax and debris from sticking and dilute out the bacteria and yeast until you can get him seen

My puppy’s ear is very red and she keeps flapping her ears. I know from my other dog that she has an ear infection and I have medicine from his ear infections, but i know there is 2 different types and I don’t want to give her the wrong medicine.
You are right that there are different causes of ear infections, typically yeast and bacteria (there are many types). Ear medications prescribed are based on which of these is the problem. It is also important for their ear drum to be assessed prior to starting medications. As well, some dogs need oral medications in addition to topical if the infection is severe. Being so young is also a consideration with certain drugs. The best plan is to have your vet perform an ear cytology and assess for an intact ear drum prior to picking the best medication that is safe for Nola. My dog has a yeast infection on her skin & ears. What's the best way to treat this, preferably without a vet visit? Brand of shampoo? OTC medication?
Yeast infections are especially itchy, crusty, and smelly. Often a dog starts with a rash or with simple itching but the skin thickens to an “elephant” skin appearance. The itch is extreme and the odor can be especially troublesome. Parts of the body or the entire body can be affected. Malassezia overgrowth is particularly problematic where there are skin folds ("armpits," eyelids, facial folds, lip folds, throat latch, and especially between the toes). Treatment can be topical, oral, or both. Topical treatment is best used for localized spots of infection while oral medication would be better applied to larger infected areas. If the yeast infection is recurrent or if one wishes to supplement oral medication, topical and oral treatment can be combined. Oral medications are available through your vet. Shampoos such as Chlorhexiderm Max® or Malaseb® shampoo both strip skin oil and kill yeast; however, other anti-yeast products include Selsun Blue®, Miconazole® shampoo, Nizoral® shampoo

Is there an oral antibiotic that you can give a dog with yeast ear infectiom? Drops not working after 5 days.
Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! I’d give the drops more time. I have never used an oral medication for an ear infection unless it was a severe drug resistant bacterial infection. Oral anti-fingals like fluconazols or ketoconazole over an oral antibiotic would be chosen for yeast if absolutely necessary. If Molly’s ears aren’t better at day 10, have her rechecked. She may need a different drop or ask to be shown how to clean the ears and apply the drops. Good luck!

However, the concern with just starting an ear medication without examining the ear canals is that you may be administering ear medications in an ear with a ruptured ear drum.
