Cutting Surena's nail too short would not cause ear swelling. Surena could have ear swelling related to an ear hematoma which is often caused by an ear infection. Ear hematomas are often painful and do require veterinary medical treatment (sometimes medication sometimes surgical). Until you can get Surena to see a veterinarian you can try to clean her ear to help reduce infection. However, I would suggest going to see a veterinarian as soon as possible as these infections rarely, if ever, resolve with just cleaning. Surena will likely need prescription ear medication and may need draining of the ear hematoma. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach and I hope Surena is feeling better soon!
