My Pomeranian has painful matted poop and a red anus. What to do?

Pet's info: Dog | Pomeranian | Male | neutered | 5 lbs

i have a small pomeranian about 5 pounds 2 years old, he ate some candles about 2 days ago and now his poop is stuck in his hair and when i try to remove it he seems to be in alot of pain, his anus looks pinkish red what can i do?

You have to get trimmers, not scissors, to cut the hair around the rectum. This will remove any debris. You can apply a warm compress to the area to help with pain and the inflammation. Once it is all cleaned you apply cortisone cream to help
