Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Male | unneutered | 7 months and 18 days old
Hi,I have a lab who is 8m old and scared of other dogs even cats at times. He was in the park with a 2m little pup who tried jumping on max and he got scared and ran away and starts to whine. He gets scared whenever a dog smaller or bigger even looks at him. BecUse of this every other dog in the street tries to attack him and he doesn’t even have the guts to at least bark at them! All he does is walk down the street hiding bwteeen my legs! He’s never been actually attacked in the past. What to do

Max will benefit from a group dog training class. Even if you go and sit and watch a class and get him used to sitting and watching other dogs while you are relaxed his behavior should improve. With a good trainer and meeting dogs in class that he gets to know and see weekly he should relax. He needs to build confidence and learn normal dog behavior. If you have a friend with an older, calm well trained dog that he gets used to you can walk together to help him learn to behave also. He’s at a critical age for improving this behavior so please get some training soon. Also neutering him will prevent hormonal issues affecting his behavior. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to help you care for Max.
