Why does my cat hide under the bed all day but sleep with me at night?

Question

My 3 y/o cat stays under my bed for most of the day. When I go to bed at night and close my door, she hops up on the bed and sleeps with me and just hangs out. Around 5 every morning I let her out to play with my roommate's cat, but by the time I wake up at 8 she's always sleeping on my bed again. Somedays I get home early around 11 and she's under the bed. She SOMETIMES comes out, but not for very long. That seems to be how most of her days go. She's a skittish cat but should I be concerned? Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! If this is how everyday goes then it sounds like her normal routine. She probably feels safest under the bed. As long as she’s eating and drinking and not vomiting or having diarrhea I wouldn’t be concerned. Kisses to Rebel!
