My cat sneezes and scratches. Will Omega-3 supplements help or hurt?

My cat sneezes frequently, and also spends a lot of time scratching. I have heard that Omega-3 supplements may help would I be hurting her by giving her supplements? Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | spayed | 8 years and 7 months old | 7 lbs

Sneezing and itching are suspicious of allergies, so I first recommend having her evaluated by a veterinarian. The vet will be able to help find the cause of this and give the necessary treatment. Omega-3 fatty acids can be helpful for inflammation, but they will not result in a big improvement. For a cat this size, it's recommended to supplement about 300-400mg per day.
