Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Longhair | Female | spayed | 7 years and 9 months old | 10 lbs
Hi, today I came home from work and my cat (female, 8yrs old) had a huge poop clump all around her bottom area. I am worried now about her getting a UTI since the poop was so close to her vagina. We bathed her right away, but could have been on her for 3 hours or so. What are some of the signs and symptoms of a UTI or bladder infection. What should I do to possibly prevent it. Thanks - Brittney

It's not likely to cause a UTI. some signs of UTI includes frequent urination in small quantities, blood or dark urine, urinating outside the litter box, crying a lot. the most important thing to prevent it from happening again is to have her groomed around the anal area so poo can't stick there.
