My 8-year-old cat has a throat lump and can't swallow. What's wrong?

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | spayed | 8 years and 4 months old | 13 lbs

What can I do for my cat? She cant swallow food or water. She has a hard lump in her throat. She is 8 years old. She is breathing fine, but she is having issues just swallowing regularly. I need to know what to do. I am kinda freaking out.

Oh goodness. I bet you are very concerned about her. I would be concerned that the lump could be an abscess, or fungal infection, or even a tumor. I would highly encourage you to have her evaluated by a veterinarian as soon as possible. They will be able to give you a better idea about what they think the lump maybe when they are able to feel it. They may recovery a biopsy to help decide how to best help SweetPea.
