What fruits and vegetables are safe and healthy for my puppy to eat?

Can I feed my puppy any types of Fruits or Vegetables? Something healthy for her.

Most fruits and vegetables are fine. You need to avoid grapes, raisins, onions, garlic or any fruits/veggies that are within these families. I would recommend green beans, peas, carrots, apples, bananas, sweet potato, lettuce and zucchini. Please post again if you have any further questions about Cookie!

    Great question! There are human foods dogs can never eat like chocolate, garlic, onion, raisins, onions, and alcohol.     Hello and thank you for reaching out to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Congratulations on the new puppy! I recommend purchasing a Small Breed Puppy food. Any of the well-known large dog food companies (Hills, Purina, Royal Canin, Blue Buffalo) will have excellent, well-balanced diets for puppies. There are feeding recommendations on the dog food bags that tell you how much to feed based on weight. Always make sure she has access to water. Do not feed human food, as many foods that we eat (chocolate, onions, garlic, avocado, raisins, grapes) are highly toxic to dogs. I hope this is helpful!

Hello there! Luckily, most fruits vegetables are quite healthy for our pets. Here are some you want to avoid: Avocado Onion Garlic Chives Apple cores and seeds (apple slices are ok) The green parts of a tomato (red parts are ok) Cherries (seeds, leaves, and stems are toxic) Apricots (seeds, leaves, and stems are toxic) Grapes and raisins Wild mushrooms (grocery store mushrooms are ok) Currants Green potatoes (cooked, ripe potatoes are ok) Rhubarb I find that many dogs like baby carrots, green beans, and peeled apple slices. What are the fruits i can feed my 4 month old Rottweiler?
Hello and welcome to Boop by Petco. Dogs can have fruits and vegetables and in particular some vegetables are good for teeth and digestion, like pumpkin or squash. Fruits that are good for dogs are apples, bananas, strawberries. Avoid any fruit that has pits as these can cause obstructions (peaches, nectarines, plums, etc). Avoid garlic, onions, grapes, raisins and chocolate- these are all very toxic to dogs. Carrots, cucumber, celery, broccoli, are all good as well. Best of luck with Toffee.

Apples, bananas, carrots, celery, green beans, melon and pumpkin are all good choices for a healthy snack. Definitely avoid grapes, raisins, avavocado, onions, potato peels and garlic, as these are all toxic. I hope that helps and all is well with Arjun.

Yes, you can feed some vegetables in small amounts. Asparagus, Bell peppers (red, green, yellow), Broccoli, Carrots, Cauliflower, Celery, Cucumber, Green beans, Pumpkin, Sweet potato are all fine to feed to a dog. Do not feed anything with onions or garlic as they can both be toxic to dogs.

A tiny slice of banana is fine as an occasional treat. Too much may lead to stomach upset. Apple slices (no seeds) can also be offered in moderation. my pup is nearly 4 months old and i think she is a little bit small for her age, she weighs 2.6kg. she is a small breed tho. The question is what can i give her for the additional source of nutrition? i give her boiled chicken and the broth and rice.
Hello and thank you for reaching out to Boop by Petco. Jelly is so cute! She looks like an appropriate body condition so far, and since she is only 4 months old it is hard to know how big she will ultimately get. I recommend feeding her a normal puppy dry dog food, and feeding the recommended amount on the bag for her weight. It is safe to add in vegetables such as peas, carrots, broccoli, etc - but NO onions or garlic. Most fruits are safe too, such a berries, bananas, watermelon, etc. Hard boiled eggs are safe, but they are high in cholesterol so I wouldn't feed her more than 1/2 per day. Please keep in mind that a good quality puppy diet on its own will have ALL the nutrients and vitamins that she needs to grow appropriately, so it is not necessary to add in extra food. In fact, this could actually cause her to grow too quickly and become overweight, which can cause extra strain on the joints and predispose her to boney issues in the future. I hope this is helpful!

I give her fruits and veggies (mainly apples, carrots and green beans) all the time , is that okay ?
Yes those are good. Never give grapes or raisins as they can cause kidney damage and death. Onions aren’t good or large amounts of garlic. I feed plain canned pumpkin which fills them up and increases the fiber in the diet to keep them regular. In addition please feed a good quality dog food so she gets the nutrients she needs. I would give minimal fruits as they are high in sugar. You can try broccoli, carrots, green beans, spinach, etc. You mainly want to stay away from too many carbs and fruit. Also, stay away from garlic, avocado, grapes, raisins, and onions - these are toxic. I hope this helps!
