My puppy growls and nips when I touch his new toys. Is it normal?

My 6 month old chihuahua is fine with me touching him and his old toys when he has them but when I get him a new toy and he's playing with it if I touch him or his new toy while he has it he growls and nips me is there any way I can stop that behavior or is it normal with his new toys

This can be very normal for a new toy as they can be very territorial over them. I would try to let him play with it on his own until the “new” wears off so you don’t get bit. Or if you need that toy for some reason, play with another toy to try to distract his attention. I hope this helps!
