My cat is vomiting, lethargic, and breathing strangely. What's wrong?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 2 years and 6 months old

We are just really noticing it but snickers isn’t acting himself. He puked up all his treats and is laying down very slowly isn’t getting up often maybe breathing a little different and he’s letting us like hold him and touch him which we’re never able to do and he is meowing loudly for a little while at a time! We can’t really afford to take him to the vet right now so what are some ideas as to what could be wrong?!

Something seems like it is bothering Snickers. I am concerned there is something wrong with Snickers intestinal tract. It could be something simple as if Snickers ate something that just upset his stomach to something more like a foreign body being stuck in Snickers stomach. The ideal situation is taking Snickers to a veterinarian to get a physical examination and see if that can give anymore information on what is going on with Snickers. I would look into low cost clinic options. i would ask neighbors and friends or do a quick google search. Some clinics will even have free exam coupons which you can find online. I hope Snickers feels better soon and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
