My dog's knee cap was put back, but she's still limping. Is it normal?

My Yorkie jumped down off the couch and yipped then it would not walk on it's left back foot, but held it up and limped. Later that day I took her to my vet, she said the knee joint was out of the socket and she snapped it back in. That was yesterday. It is now 10 pm and she is still holding that back paw up and limping and not putting any weight on that back foot. Is that normal? How long should I expect her to keep holding her back paw up before I be concerned?

Knee cap injury is unpredictable, in some cases it could be mild in other it could be severe, the knee cap might be going in and out of the socket very often, it might also stay out of the socket which would explain the constant holding of the paw. if this is the case she will eventually need surgery to have this injury repaired.
