My cat had neck surgery, can't wear a cone. What are alternatives?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 8 lbs

My cat has just had neck surgery and can't wear an e-collar, because of where the incision was made. Our vet said to us that we need to come up with an alternative. We have put a tuba grip on her, but she is not happy with it.

Unfortunately, most cats hate anything that we put on them. What you have fashioned looks like the perfect solution. As long as Tuppence allow it to stay in place, I think that is likely going to be your best solution. I wish I had a better solution for you, but I think you did a great job. Now we just have to convince Tuppence that it is for her own good. Good luck! I hope that was helpful. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
