My dwarf hamster has a bulging, red eye. Vet meds aren't working. What now?

My dwarf hamsters eye is closed, bulging and red and clear discharge is coming out of it. Brought her to vet + got antibiotics 4 her water. It didn't do anything so got another dose of it and it still didn't do anything. The vet that we brought her to doesn't know much about dwarf hamsters. She said I could try getting drops 4 her eye but that they could do more damage to her eye then help it. I've tried putting black tea on it but that doesn't help either...... What should I do?

I’m sorry to hear that Amber isn’t feeling well! I’m not able to advise on what may be causing the condition without seeing a photo, but a bulging eye is likely to be painful. She may be causing further trauma by scratching the area. I recommend carefully trimming Amber’s nails to prevent her from scratching the area. This may help along with the antibiotics.
