It's not advised to give him deworming when he is vomiting, because it will likely just be vomited up. Worms can get in the stomach (not their usual place) and cause vomiting, but they don't tend to cause them to suddenly get weak. It's possible that some other infection (like parvo virus) is happening and the appearance of the worm was just a coincidence. Puppies that vomit a great deal can quickly become dehydrated, which will cause them to get weak. In order to keep Chopper from having life-threatening complications, it's best to take him to the vet for an evaluation and treatment as soon as possible. For now, only feed small amounts of bland food and make sure he has plenty of clean water. You can add rehydration salts to the water to help treat the dehydration. I hope that helps and Chopper gets better soon.

Sorry to hear that Cookie is feeling so bad! If she is vomiting up worms, this is an indication that her worm burden within her GI tract is extremely high. She is need of a dewormer very badly. I would bring a fecal sample into a vet to have it analyzed to see which dewormer is required. If this isn't possible, I would treat with the most broad spectrum type you can find (Drontal Plus is a good choice). However, this still will not cover everything, which is why the analysis is truly the best way to deal with this issue.

Remi will likely need a few more doses of dewormer over the next few months to clear her of worms. The dewormer only kills certain life stages of the worms, so it must be given at regular intervals to kill off the rest of the worms as they mature. It is likely working, but can take a while. Make sure that Remi is getting her medication with a meal, as sometimes having a full stomach before getting deworming medication can help to reduce stomach upset, and can also help make sure the medication is absorbed properly. In some cases if there are a lot of worms in the system, dogs will have a bit of vomiting or diarrhea after deworming medication, or have a decreased appetite, but if it persists or Remi is acting lethargic, see your vet to help rule out other potential causes. There is a concern about low blood sugar and dehydration in young puppies that aren’t eating, so if Remi does not feel like eating tonight I would have her seen. Try a small amount of boiled boneless skinless chicken and white rice to see if you can coax her to eat.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. It sounds like Cookie is likely suffering from a worm infestation. He needs to be given a dewormer. I am not sure what is available and recommended in the Philipines so please consult a local veterinarian or experienced pet health worker. Common drugs used for this in the US are: fenbendazole, febantel, pyrantel, and piperazine citrate. Use as directed by a veterinarian and follow the package directions, paying close attention to Cookie's weight. He may have other underlying problems, in which case the dewormer may not be enough. In that case, consult your veterinarian as soon as possible. Best wishes to you and Cookie!
