My dog destroys tennis balls and eats them. What are safe dog toys?

My dog LOVES her tennis balls it is all she plays with. But she keeps breaking them and then trys to eat what she break off. How do i go about getting her to not do that? I'm afraid one day I'll be away from home and she breaks one and she chocks. Can't get her to play with any other toy/ball. What do I do?!?! Pet's info: Dog | Shih Tzu | Female | unspayed | 2 years and 1 month old | 25 lbs

Hi there, Ingestion tennis ball pieces could certainly cause a problem. This behavior unfortunately isn't likely to change. I would try switching to the KONG balls. They are like tennis balls but she won't be able to destroy them, and that will keep her safe. I hope that helps. Thanks for using Pet Coach!
