Why is my lovebird rubbing its butt and eating regurgitated seed?

Pet's info: Bird | Unknown - Bird | Male | 2 years and 8 months old

I have a love bird that for the last week has been rubbing it’s butt on a perch and vomiting or regurgitating seed then eats it. Is this normal? It acts fine, it’s social loves to take a bath eats drinks plays with his toys

This may be mating or sexual behavior. The whole seed indicates regurgitation instead of vomiting. The rubbing of the perch is likely mounting behavior. It should pass. You can provide different toys or rearrange the cage to distract him, but there is no cause for concern as long as he is behaving normally otherwise.

    It is most likely a behavioral problem. Birds will regurgitate on objects that they are possessive of. He is marking his territory. However if he stops eating or is acting ill I would take him to a local vet.
