My bitch had a litter of puppies yesterday the vet prescribed her loxicon it says on the box not to give to pregnant or lactating animals is this safe to give mt bitch who is lactating?

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Why was the Loxicom prescribed in the first place? It's a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory used for pain. Most dogs who give birth naturally and even with C-sections are not prescribed pain medications. In the US the FDA has not approved for use in lactating or pregnant animals. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatorys are excreted in the milk. I would suggest not using it until you speak with your Vet. I hope this helps and good luck!
