My dog's face and paws are red, itchy, and losing hair. Is it demodex?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pug | Male | 5 years and 2 months old | 23 lbs

My dog is having skin infection kind, on face and paws.they become red and hair loss, it itches, also blood comes from skin if it becomes more red and swollen. As I read here I suspect demodex, kindly advise... Little bit of blue colour is because we have applied gentian voilet.

Demodex is definitely high on the list, the other main option is allergies, you will need to take Appy to the vet ASAP, your vet will perform a skin scrap to confirm/rule out demodex, if it is not demodex the vet will give him allergy meds for at least 2 weeks as well as a course of antibiotics.
