My dog ate coffee grounds or tea bag. Why is she vomiting and having diarrhea?

Dog got into the trash and possible ate some coffee grounds or tea bag.. Been vomiting and diarrhea.. I got her to eat about 1/8th cup of mashed potatoes this a.m. she is a little chihuahua. Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Female | unspayed | 1 year and 1 month old | 3 lbs

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Sassy is absolutely adorable! She is likely experiencing some dietary indiscretion. However, the possibility of a foreign body ingestion and obstruction is there as well. I recommend that you have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They would be able to check for an obstruction and treat accordingly. At the very least, they can start anti-nausea and anti-diarrhea medications to make Sassy feel better.
