Why does my cat have a painful jawline lump and droopy mouth?

Cat has a hard lump on jawline that's very painful to the touch also his mouth droops down at the same spot. What could be the cause of this. Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Mediumhair | Male | neutered | 9 years old | 18 lbs

I hate to hear that Leo is uncomfortable. I would think this is likely an infection, either of the skin or the tooth itself. Less likely would be a cancer. I would recommend to take him in to see the veterinarian who may be able to tell the difference based on a physical exam and can provide appropriate medication and pain relief.
