My dog's eyes are watering with brown discharge. What should I do?

My 9 year old jack Russell's eyes are watering with a brownish discharge .can you help me on this

It sounds like your dog has an eye infection, and I would take him into a vet right away. Eye infections should be considered an emergency, as leaving them untreated can lead to vision loss. The vet can diagnose that he does have an eye infection, and can give him an antibiotic eye ointment to treat it.

    If you can't get to a veterinarian, the best you can do is to keep this eye comfortable and lubricated. See if your pharmacy can give you human eye lubricant drops or gel that is designed to keep the eye moist, and put this in the eye several times daily. Even a human antibiotic eye ointment would work well, if you can get that. Then all you can do is hope that the eye can heal itself with time.
