Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Female | 8 years and 6 months old | 9 lbs
My cat has a small cyst on her right side. I already took her to a vet and they said they cannot do anything since it's too small and below several layers of skin. It's not near the surface. However, hasn't gone away since the visit and she still has it and it hasn't shrunk. Is there something natural I can do to help reduce the cyst? I heard that heating a towel and applying coconut oil and sea salt can help. Is this true?

Coconut oil is the newest cure all, but there is no scientific evidence that it will help reduce the cyst. You can try it, but it is unlikely to help. I would caution about using too much salt, as if Patchy licks it up and ingests too much of it, she could get salt poisoning It sounds like the cyst is quite small, and if it's not bothering Patchy, then I would leave it be. Should the cyst grow bigger, then I would take her back into the vet to see if it can be removed.
