Why does my dog have a hard bone behind both ears? Is it normal?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Lhasa Apso | Male | unneutered | 4 years and 2 months old | 20 lbs

Was petting my dog and not sure if it's just now that i noticed but I felt a bone or something hard behind his ears (both). Is that normal?

If it is behind both ears it is likely part of the scull and nothing to worry about, especially if it feels the same and is the same shape and size. If there is a difference between the two shapes then you may want your vet to have a look at it.
