Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed

Hi my son had a kitten who was 4 mths old. She was a very placed kitted never scratched anyone. Last night she attacked my son then started running around in circles. After that she layed down and went to sleep. Sometime during the night she started bleeding from the nose as well as had diarrhea and we found her dead when we woke up. My son keeps asking why and i dont know why but i was also wondering should I be worried as we have another kitten as well as a dog

Unfortunately, sometimes kitties can be born with a congenital heart defect, which then causes sudden death. A vet will not always be able to hear this heart defect on auscultation. She could have also had a type of stroke, and attacked your son because she all of a sudden felt sick. There are also infectious diseases that can cause bleeding and diarrhea, especially when they occur in the peracute form. I think you should make sure your other animals are up to date on vaccines, and if there is the slightest suspicion that the other cat or the dog are "off", you should take them to a vet right away.
