Pet's info: Dog | Golden Retriever | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 8 months old | 79 lbs
I live in a hot country and I have a golden retriever with thick and long hair. I'm afraid that he might have dehydration. How do you check if he has dehydration? And how do you prevent it in such a humid and hot place?

You can pull up a fold of skin and twist it gently. If it does not immediately revert back to its original position , then your dog is dehydrated. The only way to prevent dehydration and overheating is by keeping it in an air conditioned space. Make sure Shiro Han always has fresh cool water available. You can also put ice cubes into the water or put his water bowl into a larger bowl with ice cubes.
