Why is my dog throwing up gooey vomit with blood? Is it serious?

My dog threw up blood it looked like something was in there with her throw up. The blood didn't look really red it looked like it was mixed with gooey throw up what is that. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 18 lbs

Cindy could have an infection, parasite, gastritis from something she ate, pancreatitis, ulcer, metabolic/endocrine disease. You could withhold food for the day and then try a bland diet, like chicken and white rice and see if that helps. If the vomiting continues or she becomes lethargic than she needs to be examined by a vet for treatment. Your vet can run lab-work and take x-rays, if needed, to help diagnose and then prescribe medications to help treat her problem. Hope she feels better soon.
