My dog keeps attacking my cat and small dog. How can I stop her?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | American Bulldog | Female | spayed | 7 months and 2 days old | 63.9 lbs

How can I get Alice to stop attacking my Yorkie poo and the cats? She can never leave them alone and is constantly trying to drag them around (by their heads). No matter what I have done or how many times I have told her no, she will not stop this behavior. My oldest cat hides under the bed all the time now and my little dog is constantly trying to hide from her. She doesn't growl and it doesn't seem like she is being aggressive towards the cats but lately she's aggressive towards my little dog.

She may be playing and/or attempting to demonstrate dominance. Unfortunately, a dog of her size certainly could cause harm to a small dog or cat. You should consider taking her to a training class where she can learn some discipline. Furthermore, you need to establish yourself as pack leader which means setting boundaries and intervening when she displays this behavior.
