Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 8 months and 20 days old | 10 lbs
Hello, my husband used one of those "bird" toys and my 8-month old kitten went nuts playing with it, jumping in the air repeatedly to catch it. It is something we have done regularly for the last few months. Last night for the first time our kitten panted for a few minutes, beginning during and for a few minutes after. I brought him to his water he wasn't interested. He also is a rather large kitten, healthy but big for his age and strong if that makes any difference. Thanks

If he was really racing around after the toy last night, more than usual, it could explain his exertion, however, it wouldn't be a bad idea to get him in to see your vet for an exam just to be safe. You said Obi is a big cat, so there may be some Maine Coon in his background, and they have a greater risk for some heart conditions.
