Can my vaccinated kittens get sick from an unneutered spraying cat?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Hello!! I have 2 female, spayed, fully vaccinated, 6-month-old kittens. There is a friendly neighborhood boy cat who comes in my patio and sprays. (I'm assuming he does that because he's not neutered??) Can my kittens get sick from him visiting? They never interact but they do lounge/play in the same outdoor space at different times. Thank you!

Yes, you are correct that he is spraying because he's not neutered. He's marking his territory around your patio. As long as your cats are fully vaccinated, they will not be able to get sick from him. It is a good idea, however, to not let them play in the same outdoor space at the same time. He may be friendly to you, but your girls may not like him, and they could fight with each other.
