Pet's info: Cat | Siamese | Female | unspayed
My 4 month kitten seems to have all the signs of being in heat. She's is very restless and rolls around the floor in a wierd way and keeps licking herself. She seems really miserable. When can I get her fixed and until then is there something I can do to help her? And how long will she be in heat?

4 months of age is very young for a cat to be in heat but she certainly could be, especially since she is a Siamese. If you have any concern that there could be another reason for her behavior than have your vet take a look at her. If she is in heat than it will last on average about 7 days and she may go back into heat 1-3 weeks later. She is old enough to be spayed so talk to your vet about the best time to have her spayed. There really isn't much you can do to help her, just make sure she doesn't get outside or around any male cats.

This is very young for her to come into heat, but not unheard of. They can go into heat as early as four months. She is not too young to be spayed, but we prefer not to spay them while they are in heat. This is because the tissues tend to swell and increase the possibility of complications. You can schedule a wellness check at anytime though. The Vet will want to do this prior to spaying to ensure she is healthy for the procedure. They can then advise you on the best time to get her spayed and get that scheduled. I hope that helps and all is well with nala.
