Pet's info: Dog | Bernese Mountain Dog | Female | unspayed | 10 months and 22 days old | 30 lbs
My dog recently started limping. It appears to be the right front leg thats bothering her. I am unsure as to why she started because I was not present during the time of the injury. When she walks she doesnt cry and it doesnt seem like she is in serious pain. When she gets up from a nap she will apply pressure on that leg and she will cry a little. I was just wondering when you would make the call to bring her to our local vet. She is a 12 week old Bernese Mountain Dog.

Ruby could be have hypertrophic osteodystrophy, which is a disease of the front limbs of large and giant breed dogs. It causes sudden lameness, and yes I would take her into the vet today. The vet can do x-rays to confirm she has hypertrophic osteodystrophy. It typically resolves on it's own, but she would benefit from some anti-inflammatory medication for the pain, and likely needs cage rest.
