My senior dog is vomiting, coughing, and struggling to walk. Help!

I have a 15 year old collie cross who is being sick twice since last nights, coughs when moving, has difficulty standing and walking as his legs are stiff. He has a heart murmur and fatty lumps on his tummy one of which was removed 18 months ago. His legs gave way a couple of times yesterday and he looks generally unwell like he's got a cold. What to do?

I would take Ronnie into the vet first thing in the morning. There are a couple of things that could be going on with him, and he should receive veterinary care for them. Coughing when moving can be a sign of congestive heart failure or a respiratory infection. If he's having trouble moving and falls over, then he could have severe arthritis. He will likely need pain meds to help with his arthritis, and the only safe ones are available from the vet. Please do not give him any human pain meds, many are toxic to dogs and can be fatal if given.
