It is not normal for a dog to bleeding from her vagina after being spayed. She could have an infection of the uterine remnants, or she could have a bladder infection called cystitis that causes blood in urine and can look like vaginal discharge. I would take Eilie into the vet right away. The vet can do a physical exam, routine blood tests, a urinalysis, and possibly x-rays to diagnose what is causing her to bleed from her vagina. Once a cause is found, the vet can start treatment.

Hi there. From the picture it appears as though Rudy may have pulled her internal skin sutures a little, causing the skin to bleed. If she is not being cage rested, now may be the time to do so and if she has an e collar or cone please put it on her and leave it on until her sutures are ready to come out. As long as there is no active bleeding (a steady stream) it should be ok if she does not re injure herself. As always if you are worried you can take her in to see your regular vet or an emergency doctor on call. Hope this helps! My best to you and Rudy!

That is unexpected. I recommend to get Sadie in to see her veterinarian quickly. An infection of the internal surgical site or a bladder infection could be to blame. The doctor will likely want to check her PCV to make sure there’s no evidence that one of the ligatures came off a blood vessel and internal bleeding is present. I recommend to call them now and tell them what is happening. I suspect they will want to see her. Hopefully it’s nothing serious! Please feel free to post any additional questions.

I recommend to call the clinic who preformed the procedure. It's possible the blood is coming from the surgery site or that she has a bladder infection (which can happen after a spay). The veterinarian may want to exam Sissy to make sure she is not bleeding internally from the surgery site. They may also want to test her urine. I hope this helps and that this gets figured out quickly. Please feel free to post any additional questions.
