Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Male | neutered | 5 years and 7 months old | 70 lbs
Our 5 year old Lab is suddenly afraid of coming into the house. He sniffs around a lot and gets 'spooked' and runs out of the house as quickly as possible. He spent the weekend with our inlaws as we were away. When we came back we noticed his eyes & face were swollen. He was given antihistamine by the vet but we can't understand his subsequent behaviour. He ones upstairs at night which he has never done before. He has also been sick on a couple of occasions. Heartbreaking, he's just not himself.

It sounds like something happened that has made him afraid. If his eyes and face were swollen than maybe he was stung by a bee or something and is now associating pain with being in the house. You could take him to your vet for an examination and talk to your vet about prescribing an anti-anxiety medication like Trazodone and see if that helps him settle down. Hope he is back to normal soon!
