Pet's info: Dog | Yorkshire Terrier | Male | unneutered | 4 years and 5 months old | 14 lbs
I have a 4 year old male yorkie who has been diagnosed with a collapsed trachea about 5 months ago. He was put on steriods, and seemed to be doing well. The past day and a half, he has been limping and is not responding we when called to. He is normally energetic, especially when I come home. He has not been at all. He ate a large amount of Parmesan cheese thanks to my 4 year old. Could he have a sprain and that is why he is acting this way? I'm scared. Our vet will not do payment plans.

So sorry that Ferris is having this problem. He could have a sprain/strain but could also have a fracture, ligmanet tear, etc. If you can't take him to a vet, you could rest him for a couple days and see if he improves. If it is just a sprain than he should start to feel better with rest. If he doesn't improve than he needs to be seen by a vet to determine the cause and best treatment. Your vet can take an xray, if needed, to help diagnose. He could also have an upset stomach from the parmesan cheese so monitor for any vomiting and diarrhea. Hope he feels better soon.
