Hi, my GSD has had a little crusty spot on the side of his nose on and off for a week or so. Thought it was just a little runny nose crusting up at first. Now I've noticed inside that nostril is bright red and raw looking. Sinus infection? Will it clear up on it's own or should he see a vet? It doesn't seem to bother him. He's a little resistant when I try to get a closer look... That's about it.

I would take Kodiak into the vet to have this examined, as it's not normal for the inside of the nostril to be bright red and raw looking. If he's resistant to you looking at it, I would imagine that it is bothering him a bit. You are correct that it could be due to a respiratory infection (sinusitis), but it could also be due to injury, a foreign body, fungal infection, or a nasal tumor. Kodiak should see a vet today during normal business hours, or tomorrow morning for an exam.
