Our 4 year old jack/rat terrier has been coughing tonight and now is wheezy on her exhales. Pet's info: Dog | Rat Terrier | Female | spayed | 15 lbs

It sounds like Hettie could have a respiratory infection and may be congested. Tonight, you can try using a humidifier or bringing her into the bathroom with the door closed while you take a hot shower - the steam and humidity help to break up congestion and temporarily relieve symptoms associated with respiratory infections. I would bring her into the vet in morning for an exam. If she does have a respiratory infection, she may benefit from antibiotics.
