Worms in my carpet! How to protect my pets and clean my rental?

I just had a friend's puppy first have large amounts of work.a come out in her diarrhea and vomit shortly thereafter. The worms were in my carpet where I have 2 cats and a puppy who live with me. What should I do to protect my animals and decontaminate the area for future residents. This is a rental and I'm about to move out

I would make sure that your cats and your puppy are both up to date on their deworming treatments. If they aren't, you will need to get treatments for them from the vet. As for cleaning the house, I would shampoo the carpets, and scrub any hardwood floors.
