Why does my cat have a fluid-filled lump on its arm? What's the treatment?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Maine Coon | Male | neutered | 10 years and 11 months old | 12 lbs

My cat has what seems to be fluid on his upper arm near the shoulder, bicep I would say... what would be the cause of this? And treatment?

This could be a cyst on Lucious. I would take him into the vet tomorrow if they are open for normal business hours for an exam. Otherwise, I would take him in on Monday. If it is a cyst, it will be need to be drained sterilely, or may need to be removed to prevent recurrence. Don't try to open it or drain it yourself, you will introduce infection into the area.
