My husky had a seizure with foaming. What caused it and is it serious?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Siberian Husky | Female | 1 year and 3 months old | 30 lbs

I have a 1 year old Siberian husky and recently this morning she had what we think was a seizure. She was screaming and yelping while laying on the floor on her side while foaming from the mouth and shaking all throughout her body. She acts like she is fine now though. What might be the cause of this and is it something to severely worry about? Thank you.

Since she is young, she may just have epilepsy. She should be examined by a vet for a physical examination and lab work to rule out other potential causes. If she is an epileptic than she may need an anti-convulsant medication to prevent additional seizures. Please call your vet and schedule an appointment.
