Hi, my dog is on cephalexin because of pyoderma, we are on our 9th day of treatment and i think the pyoderma has resolved however i noticed that his belly and the skin on the front of his paws is darkening/blackish purple. Is that normal response to antibiotics? and will it go away on his own or i should stop giving him cephalexin?

Sometimes chronically irritated skin can become hyperpigmented and become darker in color, which could be a sign that his skin is healing. This is usually not related to antibiotics and as long as he seems comfortable I would recommend finishing the course of cephalexin. It also might be a good idea to contact your veterinarian and make sure there are no other specific concerns for Audi's particular case.
