My dog ate a Butterfinger. Should I make him throw up using peroxide?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 11 months and 15 days old | 22 lbs

My 20 pound dog just ate a fun size Butterfinger. Should I make him throw up? Can I use hydrogen peroxide?

There is not enough chocolate in a fun size Butterfinger to cause any toxicity issues, so I wouldn't worry :) Milo may have a mild upset stomach if he isn't used to eating "people food" like this, but otherwise he should be just fine. I would not recommend trying to induce vomiting with hydrogen peroxide in this case, as there are some risks to doing this (severe gastric irritation, possible aspiration pneumonia, etc.) and there should be no need to make him vomit.

    I would not recommend attempting to induce vomiting with hydrogen peroxide - it can cause a lot of damage to the lining of the stomach. It sounds like these things might not cause an obstruction but if you’re particularly concerned you could contact an emergency be who might induce vomiting with safe medication.
