Why couldn't the vet save my budgie from a tumor? Coping with loss.

My female budgie died on OCT 2, 2016. I MISS her so much and am feeling very sad and Guilty because she had a tumor growth on her tail since JULY 2016. WHY couldn't the VET do anything to SAVE my precious budgie? I had her for 12 Years ALMOSST 13

I am very sorry you lost your budgie! It is never easy to lose a beloved pet, and you have my sympathies. I'm not sure what was done by your vet in terms of treating the tumor, but sometimes, unfortunately, an animal is too sick and nothing can be done to save them. Without knowing the exact specifics of her treatment, I can't say for certain this is the case, but as a vet I do know there are times that no matter what we do, we can't save every animal. Again, I am very sorry for your loss :-(
