Should my pet take vitamin E with fish oil for better skin and coat?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Cavalier King Charles Spaniel | Female | spayed | 5 years and 5 months old | 17 lbs

I've heard it's good to supplement with small doses of vitamin e when giving fish oil. Is this true?

Vitamin e and fish oils work synergistically to promote healthy skin and coat. I would only also suggest that you ensure you use supplements which are designed for pets. thwse are available at most pet stores.

Vitamin E and fish oil are two great supplements you can give that can help with coat health and dandruff/dry skin. They can be easily added to Rowdy's food. If you are concerned there is a more serious cause to the dandruff such as allergies or an illness, a vet visit is always best.
