Cat licked turmeric on wound, foamed at mouth. What should I do?

Hello. We have a stray cat named Floof. We do not know her age, about 3 to 4 years. She is a pet shop cat, so she has long fur and when trying to groom, she fails to cough up a hairball. She recently got a cut and we put turmeric on the cut. She licked it and then started foaming at the mouth. The bleeding and foaming stopped, she is sleeping now. We CANNOT take her to the vet sadly, because where we live there is bad service. What can we do? Please answer ASAP.

The turmeric would taste bad and would cause her to drool/foam, but there is no concern of toxicity as long as it was just turmeric on the wound. It definitely wouldn't cause her to bleed, so this must have been due to an injury (maybe bit her tongue) she got when she was doing a chewing motion - this is commonly what they do when they are spitting things out. It's good that everything seems to have cleared-up now and I wouldn't expect this to get any worse. It's best if you wash away the tumeric, so this doesn't happen again. For wounds that can't be bandaged, it's best not put anything on it that can be potentially licked. Instead, keep the wound clean by flushing it with clean water for five minutes twice a day. I hope that helps and all is well with Floof.
