It is quite common to happen but I would not say it is normal. I suggest you go over her diet very carefully and make sure everything is 100% correct. Here is a good link for you to reference regarding diet: https://pets.thenest.com/list-foods-can-feed-parakeets-7731.html If you are feeding seeds/pellets be sure they are high quality like Zupreem or RoudyBush: https://www.petland.ca/collections/bird-food-1/products/zupreem-fruitblend-flavor https://www.petland.ca/collections/bird-food-1/products/roudybush-maintenace-premium-bird-food-available-in-different-sizes Usually this is a diet related issue. If you keep noticing this happening even after you have corrected the diet then I suggest you get Coco to an avian veterinarian for an exam.

All those extras might be causing Mittu's stool to be loose, causing it to stick to his feathers. Excessive extra fruits and veggies can sometimes cause diarrhea in birds. It is best to keep him on a commercially formulated diet for his species, to make sure he gets enough nutrients without causing upset stomach or diarrhea. If the symptoms continue even on a regular diet without excessive treats, having a vet take a look and check for issues such as infection or parasites is best.

Abnormal stool is probably related to your bird’s diet. Make sure Spike has a well balanced diet of mainly high quality pellets. Here’s some information you may find helpful about dietary needs in birds: https://www.petco.com/shop/PetcoContentDisplayView?storeId=10151&catalogId=10051&langId=-1&path=/content/petco/PetcoStore/en_US/pet-services/resource-center/caresheets/cockatiel.html If your bird already has a well balanced diet but the stool is still abnormal I would recommend taking him, and a sample of his droppings, in to be examined by our veterinarian. I hope this helps. Thanks for using PetCoach. Best of luck.
