Kitten died after vet gave antibiotics for a cold. What happened?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 14 days old

Hi my kitten came down with a cold i did home remedies for a few days he was getting worse so i took him to the vet at 9:00 at night the vet gave him a 250mg antibiotic shot and also gave me clavamox and eye drops an hour after i got home he died do you know why he died? This is very upsetting.

Hi and thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Sorry to hear about your kitten. It's very hard to try to give you the right answer without a necropsy (autopsy of animals) and some tests. Some guesses would include sepsis (blood poisoning), viral infection with a very potent upper respiratory virus, fading kitten syndrome, among other things. Again, I'm so sorry that you lost him. I send you my deepest condolences.
