Kitten died after vet gave antibiotics for a cold. What happened?

Question

Hi my kitten came down with a cold i did home remedies for a few days he was getting worse so i took him to the vet at 9:00 at night the vet gave him a 250mg antibiotic shot and also gave me clavamox and eye drops an hour after i got home he died do you know why he died? This is very upsetting. Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 14 days old

It's very hard to try to give you the right answer without a necropsy (autopsy of animals) and some tests. Some guesses would include sepsis (blood poisoning), viral infection with a very potent upper respiratory virus, fading kitten syndrome, among other things. Again, I'm so sorry that you lost him. I send you my deepest condolences.
