My big puppy's hind legs are swollen and getting bigger. What's wrong?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 1 month and 24 days old

Hi my male puppy has had swollen hind legs since birth and his vet said it could be a disease big breed dogs get sometimes and it gets better as they grow but his leg is swelling bigger as he grows and I'm very concerned about it. I feel like it might pop someday. I dont thing it hurts him because he doesn't cry and he's a very active boy. I just need to know what it is and what to do about it.

I am sorry stumpy has this swelling. I think that Stumpy needs to have x-rays and possible aspirate of this areas. My concern would be where stumpy was born with out the ability to have proper lymphatic circulation in the hind legs. I have no seen a dog grow out of something like this before but it is hard to tell by the picture. I would suggest more testing to help determine what is going on and if it is fixable. I hope that helps
